Award Winning Historical Restoration Projects

Avatar Construction has had the opportunity to work on several award winning historical restoration products over the years. Preserving our history and important landmarks has always been an important aspect of what we do and the process always brings up new challenges making each project unique and rewarding. From minor restorations to complete building rehabs, Avatar is capable of handling all restoration projects big and small.

Littlefield School – Old West Bath Meeting House

This restoration effort has garnered a number of awards, including Sagadahoc Preservation’s award of excellence in their public buildings category for “… making a significant contribution to historical preservation in the Town of West Bath.” The project was also honored with the 2009 Governor’s Community Spirit Award, from Maine’s Office of Economic and Community Development. In 2011, the town received a Maine Spirit of America Foundation Award, for outstanding community service and for our efforts to promote volunteerism. Maine Preservation chose the Littlefield School project to receive a 2011 Statewide Historic Preservation Honor Award for the restoration and rehabilitation of the old building.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve partnered with Avatar Design and Construction for almost a decade on a range of commercial projects — multifamily housing, medical offices, daycare facilities, and warehouses. They excel in design-build delivery and consistently manage risk and cost through a well-run Guaranteed Maximum Price model. Throughout our relationship they’ve demonstrated outstanding project management, clear communication, and practical problem-solving on complex schedules and tight budgets. Their workmanship and attention to detail are top-notch, and I’ve watched the firm grow exponentially while maintaining high standards. If you need a trusted design-build partner who delivers on time and on budget, I strongly recommend Avatar Design and Construction

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After we had some plumbing issues occur just outside the 1 year warranty of our new construction home, Avatar helped us resolve the areas of concern. We were happy with the work completed and the assistance we received.

The project manager we worked with, Liu, was very helpful, responsive, and pleasant to work with. We were very happy with Liu's communication and impressed with the seamlessness of the repair work completed.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We purchased a home that had been built by Avatar Construction, and after discovering some issues post-purchase, we needed warranty work done. Liu was assigned as our project manager, and he was a pleasure to work with.

Liu was consistently responsive, professional, and took pride in his work. He coordinated handymen who delivered high-quality repair finish work, and helped us coordinate with third parties. He made a point of personally showing up to supervise each job, which felt nice and reassuring.

It's good to know Avatar Construction sent someone like Liu to make things right.
